How to Set Up a New Qhub in Just 3 Minutes

Sowmya

Google gives importance to seo metatags for search results. If we need our hub to be in the search results, we will need some seo keywords etc to be entered in order for google to give priority. How do we do the same. Is the add tags the only place where we add the tags or is it possible to enable seo data in the qhub.

Hi again Sowmya,

Actually, search engines stopped considering the contents of meta tags some time ago, and using them can even be harmful to your SEO efforts (see this article for more on that).

Qhub has been designed so that a hub's site details and page content are the most prominent data for SEO. So if you go to Settings > Customization > Site Content, you'll want to make sure that your hub name, tagline and description areas are properly filled out and seeded with your target keywords.

In addition to that, you should also enable domain forwarding under Settings > Advanced> Domain Forwarding so that you can brand your hub with a domain that you own. For example RestaurantEquipmentAnswers.com instead of RestaurantEquipmentAnswers.qhub.com (see how they use their target keywords in the URL?) As well as the obvious branding benefits, this also helps your search engine rankings as visitors to your hub get counted as visitors to your domain instead of to the qhub.com domain.
